John is a former competitive curler, winning numerous World Curling Tour events and 7 BC provincial medals (none of them are gold). Over the last decade, he has been creating curling content, from the early YouTube series “Cullen and a Curler” to now, where he is CurlBC’s resident play-by-play commentator, hosted the popular Way Inside! podcast as part of Sportsnet’s Inside Curling feed, and writes one of curling’s most well-known newsletters at cullenoncurling.com.
He also has a vast amount of experience performing at curling events, giving a keynote speech at the 2020 and 2013 Canadian Juniors, and performing stand-up at Curling Canada’s “Business of Curling” symposium, numerous BC provincial events, teams’ Brier send-offs, and league wrap-up nights.
